With a friend, your family or in your small group, discuss the following questions:

1. The Bible can sometimes be confusing, offensive, or hard to read. Can you think of any parts like that? How do you handle such passages?
2. Pastor Joel mentions the radical nature of this passage (Colossians 3:1-4:1). Which aspects do you find the most challenging or counter-cultural? How can we overcome these challenges?
3. What does "set your hearts on things above" mean, as mentioned in verse 1? How can we practically implement this in our daily lives?
4. Biblically the church is meant to be a restored humanity and the vision of the good life through Jesus restores what we were made to be. How does this restoration concept change your perspective on your purpose and interactions with others, especially in a world that thrives on divisions?
5. The passage addresses relationships within families, including husbands and wives, parents and children and employers and employees. How can a deep understanding of Christ's sacrificial love transform how you approach these relationships, promoting unity, forgiveness, and selflessness?
6. How can the message of knowing Christ and His sufficiency reshape our pursuits and attitudes toward success, wealth, and personal happiness in a culture that often emphasizes these aspects?
7. As you reflect on Colossians 3:1-4:1, how can you practically apply these teachings this week? Are there specific areas where you feel challenged to live more selflessly for the sake of others to reflect Christ?
