Note-taking and Letter writing:  Cheshire is recruiting a volunteer to assist one of our elderly clients in the Supports for Daily Living Program (SDL). Our SDL program provides support for “frail” seniors in their own homes within the City of London.  This devoted client is a member of a couple service clubs but is elderly and with having physical limitations he is requiring assistance with note-taking and letter writing.    Do you have an hour available to assist this gentleman on a weekly basis so that he can continue to participate in the clubs that mean so much to him?

Group Grocery Shoppers:  Cheshire is looking for a Volunteer to shop on a weekly basis for our group home that provides care for 8 Consumers on Topping Lane. Volunteers are required to take a prepared shopping list to the grocery store, pick out the groceries and then to return the groceries to the group home for the Staff and Consumers to put away. Training is provided and your assistance is needed as soon as possible.

Gardener: Cheshire is looking for Volunteers with a green thumb to provide gardening assistance for frail seniors and adults with physical disabilities. Responsibilities will include planting, weeding, and maintaining the gardens as well as developing positive memories with one of our Consumers in their homes or at Cheshire 1 & Cheshire 3.

Come alongside a young mom/expectant mom and encourage her by befriending and investing time.  You can be a single woman or a family to participate in this.  You can spend as much time as your schedule allows – this is a wonderful way to come alongside someone who just needs a friend, possibly a mentor, a role model or someone to cheer them on!

Adopt a teen mom and commit to praying for her as she journeys through her pregnancy and all the challenges along the way, as she delivers and begins life as a new mom.
