Have you ever wanted to know God and have a life with Him?  The following four principles will help you discover how to know Jesus personally and experience the abundant life with Him.

1.  God loves you and created you to know Him personally.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  (John 3:16)

2.  We are prevented from knowing Him personally because our selfish, proud, independent and sinful nature separates us from God.

For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God..the wages of sin is death.  (Romans 3:23; 6:23)

3.  Jesus Christ is God's only provision for the forgiveness of our sin and provides a way for us to know God.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  (Romans 5:8)

4.  We must individually receive Christ as Saviour inviting Him to be the Lord of our life.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Welcoming Christ into your life is not an emotional experience or an intellectual thought.  Instead, we are trusting that our past has been forgiven and that we will allow Him to make us the kind of people He wants us to be.
