This Easter at North Park, our message series will actually be a reprise of our 2018 Christmas series, “The Gift”.
You may remember that our focus at Christmas in our weekend services was on the three gifts that the Wise Men brought to the infant Jesus. They were Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. Each of the gifts had a very practical purpose at the time but they also symbolized something deeper about Jesus’ life and death. Gold, represented Jesus’ kingship. Frankincense was symbolic of Jesus’ priesthood and Myrrh foreshadowed his sacrifice with his death on the cross.
In the week leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection, there are three very important circumstances that reinforce these characteristics of Jesus life; that he is king, priest and sacrifice. We will explore each of these situations in our weekend services as we journey towards Easter Sunday.
