The building is abuzz on Sunday mornings at 9:00 and 10:45am, as we welcome our lively little ones to their various classes (Birth-SK).
We swing open the gates to welcome our children 15 minutes before the service starts, as long as we have two approved volunteer staff ready to go, one of whom must be an adult over the age of 18.
Sign-in & Security
Safety is our top priority. Parents must sign at one of our 3 computer check-in stations EVERY time they attend. Nametags will automatically be printed for the children, with matching parent claim tags. Parents must show their matching tag to a staff in the room in order to pick up their child. If they do not have the appropriate tag, the Supervisor will need to be called to sign the child back over to their care.
Allergies, Medical or Behavioural Conditions
Please make sure this information is correct on our computerized check-in system, so that it prints out accurately on your child’s nametag. Please also alert the Room Leader to this information when you drop off your child. This includes allergies to diapers or wipes, as we use our own supply.
Note: We do not provide snack during our services, and aside from babies, we request that you do not send any food into the rooms with your children.
Classes begin with a time of free play, where children can enter the room and immediately explore age-appropriate materials alongside their peers, while developing trust relationships with their leaders. Intentionally planned large-group Bible experiences begin in our Toddler room, and increase in depth and duration as the kids grow and develop. We know that children learn more in their first five years than at any other time in their lives, so we firmly believe that now is the key time to introduce them to Jesus, and help lay down a life-long foundation for their faith.
First Look is a weekly, web-based curriculum and strategy designed for babies through five-year-olds. With the end of goal of raising up children who make wiser choices, build stronger relationships and develop a deeper faith, First Look curriculum combines child development and theology to create a comprehensive strategy for life transformation.
Each month focuses on a single basic biblical concept that is creatively presented through different Bible stories and activities, with a corresponding monthly memory verse. All is built on the foundation of three key truths we want our Preschoolers to know:
God made me
God loves me
Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
In order to help keep our kids healthy, please do not bring your child to our program if they have experienced any of the following symptoms during the last 24 hours: Severe runny nose/green mucus from the nose, productive cough, sore throat, fever, nausea, diarrhea, rash, or any other communicable diseases. If staff notice any of these symptoms, they will page you to come and pick up your child. Please inform us if your child was in our care during the incubation period of a communicable disease.
Peace of Mind Page Policy
We will not let your child cry consistently for more than 10 minutes before paging
When paged, your child’s number or code will appear in a box on the bottom of the two large presentation screens that are used
If your page comes up, please return promptly to your child’s class
Photos are periodically taken by staff for North Park print or social media use. If you do not want your child’s photo to be used in either of these ways, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Emergency Evacuation Plan
Do not come to your child’s room
Leave the building by the closest safe exit
Bring your parent tag, and pick up your child from our “Preschool Safe Zones”
Go to your car with your child, but please do not try to leave the parking lot. We need to keep our entrances and exits clear for emergency vehicles, and people moving to safety
