This 13 week elective features biblical, Christ-centred teaching that focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. The DVD seminar features nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories. This is followed by a small group discussion about what was viewed. Your bereavement experience may be recent or not so recent. You will find encouragement, comfort, and help in grieving the death of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, or other family member or friend. No matter what the cause of your loved one’s death, this is an opportunity to be around people who understand what you are feeling.

My husband and I were married 43 years. Five of those years we shared the journey of his battle with a rare dementia…We loved each other – and we trusted and loved God together through it all. I was not prepared for how hard this new stage of moving on without him would be. Both emotionally, spiritually, and in the challenges faced with him there. GriefShare has given me the tools, steps, hope and confirmation I needed to be able to move on and experience joy within pain – trusting my God as I go.

[GriefShare] helped me cope with my father’s death and understand death from the Christian perspective. The support was great and the grief experience was/is unique to each individual. Really helped me to understand grief and my journey!

In the beginning I didn’t think that a group setting would suit me. The first session felt as though it brought feelings to the surface that were quite tender. In the group I felt secure and that it was a safe place to understand the way I was feeling. Our leaders were wonderful and facilitated the program in a very sensitive thoughtful way. The group was a successful way to work through some of the grief. I would recommend this program to anyone who has had a loss.
