For 53 years North Park has been a leader in responding to the call of God by touching the four corners of the world. After 53 years we are stronger than ever and see no reason to hide away from the challenges of today’s world. Wisdom calls us to act and then reflect in order to ensure that what we do is making a positive difference. During 2017 we began a season of reflection regarding our Global Outreach.
The Global 3.0 journey saw eight leaders at North Park reading current and ground breaking material on how the North American Church should engage its Global Outreach. We spent time in conversation with 18 Mission Agencies, Churches and individuals; asking God to guide us through these conversations. We listened to the story of North Park’s mission history, and we wrestled with and reflected upon the progress of our Global Outreach work over the years.
As of January 1, 2018Doug Greenhow, a long time North Park leader and Global Outreach team member will take up the role as Team Leader. Ron Burdock moves into a new role as our Global Mentor. Ron’s 11 years with us as Director of Global Outreach have shaped our hearts and minds deeply and prepared us for a Global 3.0 future. The 3.0 journey itself inspired us deeply with a vibrant vision that affirms our current direction and yet adds vital new components to the work we are doing. Ron’s challenge to us as a Church is to take what he started to the next level.
