FOSTER & ADOPTIVE FAMILIES

-Psalm 68:5-6

Adoption and Foster Care are a truly special calling in the lives of parents whom God has gifted with passion and care for children from hard places. Although not every family is called to foster or adopt, all of us are called to care about this important issue that is so close to God’s heart. At North Park, our hearts are open to pray for and support those who are on the frontlines of this amazing work. Caring for children who come from hard places is not always easy, and foster and adoptive families need our prayers, our understanding, and our encouragement. That is why we host a monthly support group for foster and adoptive parents, as well as a yearly conference called Empowered to Connect. These are two ways that we support and equip families for the important and meaningful work that they are doing in the lives of children.

“When we adopt—and when we encourage a culture of adoption in our churches and communities—we’re picturing something that’s true about our God. We, like Jesus, see what our Father is doing and do likewise (John 5:19). And what our Father is doing, it turns out, is fighting for orphans, making them sons and daughters.”
