Day Camp 2017
9:00am-4:30pm (extended care available)
Kids who have completed SK – grade 5
For many years, North Park kids have enjoyed a summer Day Camp experience each July. This has been a ½ day camp with many volunteers engaging to ensure it was well run and that the children could safely engage in great activities as well as hear the stories of the Bible and the message of Jesus. We celebrate the great things that have taken place over the years and the many lives that have been impacted.
As we continue to look ahead, we want to ensure that we are coming alongside families in relevant ways that help them influence their children. This must ensure that any summer Day Camp experience recognizes the changing needs of families, particularly with respect to the length of camps. We also want to provide a quality experience that North Park families would be excited about inviting their neighbourhood friends to.
With this in mind, we are excited to announce a new Day Camp experience for the summer of 2017! We are partnering with Forest Cliff Camp to bring us an all-day camp experience. Forest Cliff began offering these Day Camps in 2015 with much success. Their ability to bring in activities and experiences far exceeds anything that we could possibly provide. Some of their Day Camp activities include: archery, campfire songs & skits, field games, water inflatables & games, crafts, a rock climbing wall, paintball targets, skate & scooter park and a massive inflatable obstacle course. If you were part of FallFest last September, you would have seen (and perhaps experienced) some of these activities.
Forest Cliff brings in a full team of staff to run this Day Camp who receive ongoing training to engage with the children safely and effectively. To assist them, there is an amazing opportunity for Jr High students from North Park to participate in helping with this Day Camp through their ACT initiative (Activity Crew in Training). Youth can apply for these positions from the Forest Cliff website. Forest Cliff provides some great training in late spring for these students as well as during the week of the camp.
We are looking forward to having this new Day Camp experience at North Park and seeing how we can further influence our community.
